The replacement fiber optic front sight arrived today from Brownells. Delivery time was about 3 weeks. Replacing the OEM red ramp is a simple process requiring a .050 allen and some blue thread locker. POI change TBD shortly.
My POI moved up 6” at 25 yards, and I ran out of rear sight adjustment. It needs to be 0.018-0.020” taller to work properly on the Python.
I’m looking at building a .020” shim to raise the front up, as there appears to be enough tenon engagement to work- but for me the Marble sight as delivered just doesn’t cut it for distance shooting.
I tested this on two separate Pythons, so it would be interesting to see what results you get.

Any recommendations for low profile speedloader carrier?
Any legal information I may post is general information, and is not legal advice. Such information may or may not apply to your specific situation. I am not your attorney unless an attorney-client relationship is separately and privately established.
To be honest, I expected this to be an issue. One of my Pythons is factory-zeroed with seven clicks available to lower the POI- not nearly enough to solve for this front sight (but perfectly acceptable for the OEM ramp sight with any .38 or .357 load I have run).
So the revolver is not really the problem here, in my opinion.
It took me literally three minutes to CAD design a 0.018” steel shim that would solve the issue, but that would need to be EDM cut. The tenon of the sight is long enough to allow the set screw to fully engage while the sight is fully supported by the shim, but the best solution would be for Colt or another maker to arrange for correct-height sights.
I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that despite the ~>10k Pythons out there (from 2020 alone), there’s probably not enough of a market for a correct fiber optic to make the juice worth the squeeze- because, quite honestly, those of us actually shooting the things in any sort of gamer activities are very clearly outliers. I’m only doing it to increase my proficiency with the thing, not to be truly competitive.
But they really ought not market this sight for this particular pistola.
Also, today’s gratuitous gun porn photo, for no particular reason. One of these will get a steel challenge workout tomorrow.

Actual, low-profile speedloader carriers seem to have half the rounds straddle the belt. I haven’t found anything available for my SL Comp-II loaders that I like for this purpose, so far.
The Safariland 333 carrier I have is not what I consider to be low-profile- it’s actually easier (much easier) to hide the revolver, than this thing.
Great for the range and gaming, though.
