FWIW, I picked up one of the classic arms 10-7's mentioned here

Either by luck of the draw or because their stock is mostly good stuff, without paying the "hand select" fee I got an finish "good" but mechanically excellent 10-7 off this $249 deal, picked it up this morning. My best intel is this is a CAI import of a Spanish police trade, it had a rack number under the crane area of the frame, no proof marks, but appears to be carried a lot and shot very little example similar to other police trades, pinned barrel, worn out grips (which I tossed immediately), not perfect finish, some scratches, great basis for a project gun or a CCW .38. Very pleased for the dollars spent. I may get another one for a second project I am contemplating.

    Hmmm....

I have a 3" S&W HB, just the barrel, sitting here doing nothing. Perhaps I could....

I had a 10-5 that had a HB fitted to it. It didn't match up at the frame very well. You might want to look for a heavy-barrel 10 that matches your barrel (pinned or not).

Someone here will be interested in a S&W 624 I bet. I'm not up on S&W values but it seems in line with a pre-lock Smith. They ship.

I'm in the market for a used Smith & Wesson 460, 5" or longer bbl, up to the 8 3/8". FTF in Texas.

Stainless 7.5" Ruger New Model Blackhawk convertible in 45 Colt/45 ACP. It's been shot some but these guns are tougher than woodpecker lips and the price is right. Probably one of the best configurations for a heavy SA revolver on the market today and the ACP cylinder is a huge bonus.

I'd be on it like white on rice if I didn't already have something very similar.

I have no financial interest in this one, just passing it along.
