I wish her well. But, considering the vicious snark that I’ve seen here directed towards Caitlyn Jenner (who is also a Republican, IIRC) by people who consider themselves to be conservatives, I doubt if Erin’s going to find a warm welcome on the right-side of the political spectrum.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.
Considering what trump himself and his admin have done and have stated they want to do to lgbt people generally and to trans persons specifically, to be lgbt and pro trump strikes me as an act of supreme self immolation. Of course I hope she succeeds over every other republican and of course I share her pro 2a beliefs.
More like "did". Trump's been busily removing rules that forbid discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation. All somebody has to say is "but Jesus says" and, to the Trump administration, discrimination is fine by them. That's pretty much been going on since day one of this administration.
A couple of decades ago, I went to a presentation by some Log Cabin Republicans (gay Republicans) where they were explaining why LGBT people should consider supporting Republicans. I asked how they could support a political party that maintained that it was fine to discriminate against them, that held that their relationships were immoral. They had no answer to that question and it couldn't have been the first time anyone asked them that question.

Can you be more specific on what rules he has removed?
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.
She doesn’t need full support of the Republican Party in that district, she just needs to convince those voting for her in one of the most left leaning areas of the country. Unfortunately it’s a two party system and she obviously feels she identifies more as a California Republican. And just an FYI for those not in California, most typical Republicans here are Rinos and would be considered Blue Dog Democrat in other areas of the country.
Political affiliation, race, gender, sexual identity do not influence who I vote for... Where they stand on the issues important to me does.
I apologize, for I didn't mean to hijack this thread.
Anyway, Google is your fren'.

Response 1: I believe in small government and individual liberty. I don't believe I have the right to force another individual to accommodate me.
Response 2: Being LGBT is not all that I am, just like RB can be a rabid car enthusiast and still generally support candidates who would like to see society rid itself of internal combustion engines.
California is a big, diverse state. It is similar in size & political diversity to GA, SC, NC, VA, WV, MD, DE, & NJ combined. We have fire & brimstone Republicans, Democratic Socialists, Blue Dog Democrats, and Rockefeller Republicans. It is just that the population centers of SF & LA dictate state politics, as if the D.C. area controlled GA to NJ...
