If the new-ish Weatherby Backcountry series wasn’t so appealing I think I would consider ordering a Cross ASAP. Although the general impression on Rokslide is to wait for the 2nd generation and not be an early adopter.

With Sig, that seems like a good philosophy. Maybe 3rd generation.

1st Gen Sig = Beta testing
    2nd Gen Sig = 1st Gen
3rd Gen Sig = Same as 2nd Gen but costs $1000 more, is grey, and has a cool name that sounds operatorish.

Common criticisms on that forum are lackluster accuracy, poor fit, and general “dinky-ness”. We’ll see what actual field reports, from non-influencers on social media, are after hunting season.

I placed a deposit for a 6.5CM in June at the sig academy pro shop. Crickets.

I suspect they ran into QC issues as usual.

On SteveB’s recommendation, I got a .308 Cross. So far love it, and I have a Q Fix in 6.5. Could be the modern scout rifle that doubles for precision work.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.

Skip to 27:00 minutes for your own sanity.

Nutnfancy somehow breaks another Sig product or Sig ships another product that goes off when it isn’t supposed to. You decide.

Either way, I wonder if he got a rifle that squeaked by with a recalled bolt or if it was messed with. The way he talked about the failure at the beginning is setting off my spidey senses and makes me suspect of something.

I can’t wait for Kevin B’s hot take. I will get the popcorn going.

Oh God. I stopped at 21 minutes. Whatever the fuck you do, do not stop at 21 minutes. They're shooting with a Caldwell Lead Sled, and explaining shit groups by exclaiming, repeatedly, that they shoot operationally.

I warned you to skip forward to 27:00.

@GJM, you are well left of the 'chasm' on the tech adoption curve.
