If you've never held a 5-screw N-frame wearing genuine "Coke Bottle stocks", you don't know how comfortable a pair of factory stocks can be. Wow, just wow! I owned a pair for several years but sold them when I got into having Jim Hoag build 1911s for my wife and I. On a young deputy's pay, something had to go out for something new to come into the safe.

Cokes feel great, have a set with a tiny chip in them that reside on a 5" Pre 29. Pretty darn close to Nirvana. It's Christmas every time the old 44 goes out for a few pedestrian rounds.

John Culina will make Magna style grips in the "coke" profile and they work very well, particularly with a Tyler-T adapter. Here's a set I used to own on my Model 27 no-dash.
