To be honest this is the opposite of all is lost. We've never been this galvanized as a collective force before so, I am actually somewhat thankful that this is happening. Northam's significant over-reach was exactly what was needed to bring us together and get people off their asses.

In many ways what we are doing here will set a precedent throughout the nation and thankfully Virginians are standing up and firmly saying, not only no, but fuck no.

Well let’s not start sucking each other’s dicks just yet. Showing up for a county board of supervisors meeting equates to two things: Jack, and shit. This still has more potential for an ugly outcome than not.

You can get much more of what you want with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.

    Fair enough.

I do think this sort of approach from the increasingly far-left Democrats has been a matter of "when" rather than "if" for some time now so I am just heartened to see the level of response we have had thus far, but you're right that the sanctuary county/city business is only symbolic at this point.

That said, I would also like to believe that if necessary, there are enough of us within that same population showing up to voice their concerns politely and legally, whose compromise-or-confiscate dial is firmly on the the "send bachelors" setting, to use your words.

I have no idea if this is true but a quote from elsewhere:

Cracks are beginning to form among the Democrats in the Virginia legislature on the gun issue. This is coming from surprising quarters: Lee Carter (an avowed Democratic Socialist) and Danica Roem (a transsexual) have both announced that they will not vote for the AWB as currently proposed.
Get President Donald J. Trump to state that he would nationalize the National Guard if the state attempted to use it. If one can get him off Twitter and do some actual for the RKBA. IIRC, the NRA got him to ban bump stocks instead of an all out ban on modern spurting rifles. Have NRA leadership demand that he issues this statement pre-emptively to short circuit extreme rhetoric from legislators.

" I, Donald J. Trump, POTUS will call to Federal service the Virginia National Guard if it is attempted to use it unconstitutionally to limit Second Amendment rights in the State of Virginia. The Guard will be ordered to stand down and take no part in such efforts"

All National Guard equipment belongs to the Federal Government. Easier (and cheaper) to have the President direct through the Chief of Staff through National Guard Bureau to the state USPFO that the vehicles, weapons, aircraft etc. are "grounded".

This is why all the local governments want a "Federal Disaster" declared for storms etc. as someone will pay by the hour to use NG vehicles, helicopters, etc. - the local governments and states do not want to pay the charges on the NG equipment (owned by the Federal government) - if President declares "Disaster" then FEMA picks up the bill.

Its up to the residents of Virginia no matter what legislation gets voted in or out. Are you going to let the likes of Northam determine your rights? Your freedom?
Are you loyal to the constitution or the “institution”?

Where are the recall petitions. Recall the governor and start recalling some of these democrat reps, start getting signatures. Overturn the election Bloomberg bought.

There isn't a recall process in VA for state level elected officials.

The only accountability to the people is once every four years, that really sucks.

If fear of enforcement of gun confiscation by "federal" troops gets a few more people to contact their elected officials, why would we want to deter that? :P

Out of curiosity, where did you hear that about Carter and Roem?
