I don’t currently live and Virginia, but I’d gone ahead and joined. Disappointing to see what is happening to what used to be the bastion of sanity south of Maryland.

Yep. I agree wholeheartedly. I’m a member, and I just bought a membership for my shooting buddy who was not a member, but should be. I donated to their VCDL PAC as well.
Got a county meeting coming up on the 17th to attend as well.
