Did an HPDE in the Vette. If you haven’t done this and you like performance cars you absolutely should.

Mostly I was impressed I could drive 2 hours, then beat the shit out of it for 70 track miles, then drive two hours home and the car just shrugged it off. Friends with a C8 and 991.1 Carerra had similar experiences. These things are amazing.

HPDE's are awesome. You learn that if you aren't stupid, you can push a car FAR HARDER than you thought was possible, and it won't spin out.
Soon as the kid turns 18 i'm finding one for him to do. The car control education it gives you in a controlled environment directly translates to the street.

Daytona 24 is this weekend.

That guy can freakin' DRIVE. You can see from his steering inputs and listening to the throttle how he's fighting some understeer but it keeps kicking out into oversteer suddenly, and his steering inputs are basically perfect for keeping the car stable and fast.

I'll never be half that good.

Plus, holy crap does that engine sound amazing - I kinda get why people pay so much for those things now.
