My dad had a 1995 NA Z32 for quite a few years. I got to borrow it for an extended period once, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Certainly the NA ones aren't fast by today's standards, but the overall balance of the car was just really nice. The steering felt connected and responsive without being excessively light or heavy, the clutch was really easy to modulate, the brakes felt good, and it had enough power to feel like it was doing something when you stomped on it.

Folks, if I won an infinite amount of money, this would be the first car I buy:

    Current bid is only $67k.

That’s going to be a nice buy for someone.

Personally I’d like one of the 991.2 GT3 Touring, the one with the wing delete. Got to be the ultimate Q car.

Whatever the new model costs, it's more than I can afford for quite a while. Hopefully someone here gets one and I can live vicariously.

My cousin had the Infiniti G35 Coupe and it was pretty cool but for some reason the 350/370Z never really blew my skirt up.

Anyone looking at these new Zs?

My kids went through the Fast and the Furious phase through high school - I am a product of the 60s so I was always into American Muscle (Ford Mustangs). On one of many teenager shopping trips we were looking at an Integra when I saw another car under a cover. Long story short - I came home with a 1991 300ZX Twin Turbo. Our house was always full of teenagers with 240SXs, Integras, Civics, etc. plus the old man with the 1970 Boss 302 and 300ZXTT.

I drove someone else’s 996 GT3 on some twisty gravel and paved roads years ago, and it was (of course) really impressive. Everything worked in concert and made for an extremely satisfying whole. (Archer, phrasing, etc.)

    Back to reality...

...this is one I'm looking forward to seeing in-person (and is certainly affordable) - https://www.subaru.com/2022-brz

They are due to be launched in Q3 of 2021, and my 68th birthday is in March of 2022 so the timing would be good. I've started softened up my wife.

I notice they still haven't figured out that the reason people started caring about Subarus in the first place was TURBOs.

I've got a 95 300ZX TT, and despite having bought it as a running project I'm really impressed with the car.

After all the back and forth and messing around with these 90's Japanese sports cars, I could see myself cashing out a few of them to buy a 400Z. The VR30DDTT engine picks up 150-200whp VERY easily, basically a tune, high flow catted downpipes and some heat exchanger upgrades for the Air-to-Water IC setup is all it takes. I had the chance to go for a ride in an AWD Q50 red sport 400 (which makes about 400hp stock instead of the normal 300) and aside from the Infiniti infotainment and lane-correcting weirdness and such it was a really really appealing car. If I can get a 400Z TT 6-spd with no screen aside from the DOT mandatory backup camera, I'll be VERY tempted.

I've built/worked on a lot of the older 2.0L models and I strongly, strongly doubt the 2.4L is going to be substantially better in any way. It's a fantastic chassis but an aftermarket turbo or supercharger setup is basically mandatory, and few folks are willing to shit on their warranty coverage like that.
