She... disapproves... of my car buying habit. Now granted, I have (now) 6 registered cars. For 3 drivers. That is a bit in some peoples books.
I did sell El Chapo last year, so you'd think she'd be fine. ($350 car, with actual bought parts and registration like $660. Sold it for $1500. Twice. So $3000 cash in hand from that). I know she hates the minivan but begrudgingly admits it's useful. Somewhat same for the Jeep. She wonders why I have the Neon if I don't drive it all the time. Etc. so on and so forth.
Now that it's been a couple days and her Irish has calmed down, she's started to listen.
1) I'm buying it to flip it. Since I've figured out how to quickly and relatively easily fix them, there's several around I can get for dirt cheap and sell for a really nice profit. (current one: looks like < $2k all in to fix, should sell somewhere between $4k and $7k, the latter it's currently listed for.)
2) It's a cheap way to try the EV life to a certain extent.
3) It's ALSO a cheap way for her to experience, for more than the 10 total minutes she's driven, one of these platform of cars. What if she decides a 500 of any flavor is just not a good fit for her. Which would you rather we be in to it for? $2k or $6k+? And then me have to try and sell it? She's already realized the C-pillar makes a pretty decent blind spot when backing up.
When you’re ready to sell it, let me know - I have a friend in Poughkeepsie who may be interested.

nixed the QR reference. that's the link it takes you to.
and assuming Poughkeepsie is the NY one, that's just under 100 miles from me. if we come do a decent agreement I'll even trailer it up to him. unless of course he wants to attempt to make it on a single charge.![]()
fucking wild... El Chapo just drove by, and he slowed down to check out my 500e for sale.![]()
trying to decide if I should just tell this potential customer, no I won't sell you the car, or not.
he's laid out his "requirements" of what he'd want to use it for, and frankly I think it's too close to the edge of what the car is capable of, in terms of range.
I mean how many times can I answer the "be honest about the range" with "factory says 88 miles. some people report more (over 100 miles) but I wouldn't take that as gospel, and with EVs YMMV with how you drive and the environment in question." He keeps saying his intended use would be 95 miles a day.
Need some good vibes from the universe.
Found what could be an excellent candidate for a green Fiat 500 for the wife. Hoping to either get it for a nice price, or i'm going to see if the seller would be interested in a straight trade for my 500e.
If it happens I'll reveal all the numbers, but it'd be a pretty damn nice coup for me... for once!![]()
Dumb question, but is anyone making reliable 2 door basic hatchbacks with manual transmissions anymore?

Here's a list of 2025 manual trans vehicles available in the US. The Versa and Mazda 3 look like your options, the Versa is still under $20K. Both are 4-door though I think. If you take out the word, "hatchback"....the answer is....Miata....
