So cars and coffee today. For me the stand outs were:
1. Track prepped NA Miata. Takes at length to owner and they are just so low drama cars with a vast aftermarket. He actually recommends the NC as a budget choice since NAs are taking off now like many cars of the era.
2. A beautiful Baja Bug build. That thing looks fun as hell and with all our dirt locally would actually be a blast. Also a robust after market. Do want one.
The more modern Porsches and Vettes etc, while nice, didn’t catch my eye. I feel like I could have a lot more fun for a lot less money with something more primitive.
I like the MR2 in the background, too!
NC's are a great buy right now - he's absolutely right about that.
About 6-7 years ago, an old friend wanted to buy a 'first project car' and I found him a pretty clean '93 Miata for $3k. He's kept it clean and done nice non-stupid things to it, and the other day he was offered $8k on the spot to sell it. He was astonished.
Older 90/early 2000's Subaru Imprezas make great 'baja' builds too, particularly with the less problematic 2.2L. A swap to Subaru Forester suspension and some dirt tires is a LOT of fun with AWD.

So I finally got tired of the UPS truck sound from my rusty exhaust, but while I was replacing it I noticed a small tear on my carrier bearing. It is a 2000 tundra work truck and I am looking to order a replacement from Rock Auto. Does anyone know who is the OEM? I'm used to seeing names like Aisin, but it wasn't one of the options. Rock Auto does have offerings from Dana, Timken, SKF, beck arnley, etc
I kind of miss the noise when down shifting, but with the new exhaust I am at least able to sneak home without the dogs rushing the door...
Ditto, makes me miss my 2...

Young enthusiasts. Needed rescue because: Lead XJ wasn’t stuck but also wasn’t running. Trailing XJ ran but was stuck.
Luckily dad was a mere 45 min away with a tow strap🤦*♂️
Connect winch to van. Strap between both jeeps pull back to road.
Dry out distributed and jump start non running Jeep, field expedient repair broken track arm and get everyone home.
Young enthusiasts.
I believe they're excellent on pretty much any of the Civic/Accord/variants five-lug stuff since about 2006. Would have to be careful about fenders on some models, but others will have no problem.
Also work on other stuff. Might even be a good fit on some STis.
Sunday did not go as intended, so they are not yet up on fleabay.
