    Does a ‘49 M&P count?
Great action, but teeny sights suck.

It most definitely counts. And, unlike the Rolling Stones mantra to "Paint it Black" I have found that white or red paint of the edge of the sight allows me to pick them up.

Will the paint stay put due to lack of serrations?
I use one coat of white fishing lure paint and two coats of orange on my later serrated sight Smiths and Ruger GP.
My '75 Colt DS has the worst front sight of all in terms of visibility. May try the paint on it as well.

I have found that the paint will stay in place--but I don't normally carry them in a holster, which might make it more difficult to keep the paint in place.

I have a '76 DS; fingernail polish works well (white undercoat trick, of course).

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Now my dilemma. I bought one off of Gunbroker and went to my local gun shop to run the paperwork today. The M15-4 appears to have never been fired. Only 3 chambers appeared to have been fired, which consistent with the factory test firing. The finish looks great probably 99 percent or better. Shoot it?
