    Anyone know what the deal is with this? Holster?

    I wish they had named the holster with the chief thinking that the holster was the cause of the shooting. Does HPD authorize Serpa style holsters? @RexG

    That’s not a flaw, it’s a feature. There’s no better way to practice trauma response then with a SERPA holster.

    It was a Serpa holster. HPD doesn't issue weapons. The unit that was training works plainclothes so holsters will vary.

    So do they issue holsters, or was it the taxpayers that funded that derpa holster after the fact? (certainly an expensive holster, then)

    They issue one holster for your primary duty weapon. The authorized weapons list for plainclothes officers is pretty extensive and most elect to purchase their own holster.
