Faxon barrels are reportedly pretty gassy. For the OP’s budget, there are definitely ways to get a better gun.

I have a Faxon middy 14.5” p&w in their gunner profile- runs great on Tula/Wolf, but very gassy even with quality brass .223, let alone real 5.56. After some research, I found their published gas port was .082- compared to most manufacturers using somewhere in the ballpark of .075 (+\-.003) for mid-length 14.5”. I eventually put a Superlative bleed-off gas block on it as it flung brass like a roller-delayed gun.
Net result- quality barrel, but I disagree with their sizing strategy for gas ports.
