One of the first classes I took that I paid for on my dime was with Tom. I really enjoyed it and would take a class from him again. I'll defenitely be buying a copy for my new to shooting son-in-law and one for myself.

My first pistol class had 2 instructors. Tom Givens was one of them....$80 for a 2 day class.
Took Tom’s Combative Pistol course as my first class ever a few years back and then took 5 days of his handgun instructor development course a little while after. One of my favorite classes I’ve ever taken. . I think some of the stuff in the latest print of Fighting Smarter is dated but it’s an excellent book nonetheless and I just ordered the new one!
My copies arrived today. I think it's going to be a late night.
Got mine a couple days ago and hope to dig in over Christmas break.
Spent the evening reading it, while the Impeachment horror show was on the tube.
The book is awesome. It has pointers for the beginner to the advanced student. The initial emphasis on software is excellent and so important. It sets the appropriate stage for firearms usage before you get into equipment. I tear my hair out (is that where it went?) over gun forum gurus whose first advice is about stopping power.

My wife will be receiving the book for X-Mas.
So glad I stopped by PF today and saw the thread on Mr. Givens' book.
Happy Holidaze to all!!
