    $25 tax per gun.
2 cents per round .22 or below and 5 cents per round above .22.
    That's $50 per 1000 box of 9mm.

For those who buy .22 rounds in 5000 box, that's $100 more, more than 50%.

Hope other places don't follow it.

What was the outcome when Seattle did that a few years ago? Did it stick?

I’m in IL but I don’t doubt they’d pass the same thing if the Good Idea Fairy sprinkled some dust on their pillow. As much I’m opposed, I wouldn’t raise as much of a stink if I knew it went to wildlife/conservation efforts. But “violence prevention”? I’ve never seen a satisfactory answer for what that entails.

And it says it’s expected to raise $30,000. That’s not much. It just nickel-and-dimes regular joes out of that much more of their paycheck.

No. Tacoma is a city. People can ride a bike, ride the bus, get in their car and drive a few miles. What it does is make every gun store in the city have to close or move outside of the city, because nobody will buy a gun or ammo where they have to pay this tax. It has nothing to do with “violence prevention.” It's about "cultural cleansing" and making the country even more divided.

    Good for them!
You can get much more of what you want with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.

That sucks. I’m guessing this will be the new strategy if the SCOTUS rules against state level gun bans.

Mail order ammo will be a solution, but it’s not good for local gun stores.
