    Cypher,

You keep throwing around the term civilian as if it's some kind of weapon.

Before you do that again, PULL OUT YOUR MOTHER FUCKING DICTIONARY, if you have one. You'll find that law enforcement doesn't fit that definition. If you're going to carry on in presenting these juvenile counterpoints, at least do us the favor of using the right terminology.
We may lose and we may win, but we will never be here again.......

I don't see any information that is relevant and within the subforum mission statement being added at this point. As such, thread closed.

Our uniformed division (1000+ guards, 40% with Marshal's deputization) just updated their uniforms.

Previously they wore a service cap, white uniform shirt/tie (or S/S, no tie in summer), class A pants (wool with a gold and blue stripe), and patent leather oxfords. Level 3 vest worn under the shirt, patent leather duty belt with P229, two reloads, radio, flashlight, monadnock, gloves, TQ and cuffs.

In order to help with the retention problems in the DC area, they are now wearing a ball cap and black leather duty boots, and are getting modern gore-tex shelled winter fleece jackets to replace the 80's nylon and fur-collared uniform jackets.

Thing is, they look weird. Their uniform before was all the components of a full dress uniform minus the dress Alpha jacket (only worn by the flag detail). Mixing the dress uniform with a ball cap and boots just looks mismatched and strange.

If they just went all-in on modernization with TDU pants and a Blauer or 5.11 duty polo, or the combat-shirt style "frog-suit" uniform shirts made to wear with external armor while still giving a uniform shirt appearance, and a lighter weight nylon duty belt, I think they'd present a MORE professional appearance while giving an even more functional uniform. We could keep a "real" dress-bravo uniform (like we had for officers up until last week) working special events and on the principle officer's floor.
