Thread: Virginia Elections

Don't worry Virginians, the Gov will take care of you and you will be safer!

These are not the semi conservative democrats from the Old Virginia, they are Socialist. Taxes will increase and they will implement gun restrictions that rival those in the 90's.

I’m not confident that any gun legislation will have a grandfather clause. I suspect that it will be a lot like CA and NY with outright bans on high capacity mags and many semiauto rifles.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

I had been wanting to dip my toes into the AR market for awhile and just never pulled the trigger (get it? anybody?) Anyway, this looks like it forces my hand. My job situation isn't great now but hopefully I can pick up a S&W M&P Sport II for a decent price.

That is exactly what has been proposed by the Dems last time. Outright ban. No Grandfathering. No way to compensate you for valuable property (not that thats an acceptable outcome anyway). Magazines over ten rounds or something like that and “assault weapons” which seems to include a lot of pistols but I’m no lawyer.

This is the end of the road. Even if some miracle legal challenge forces them to water down the first try, the next five years will see their majority expand and the end of gun culture in VA. If you don’t live in or around NOVA, it’s very hard to understand just how fast this change is taking place. The last decade has totally transformed the nature of this place.

So what would be a prudent thing to do? Should I buy a reloader now?

What is the definition of "assault or high capacity". Is it 10 rounds? Will revolvers be all that will be allowed?

Will we be burying a stash like John wick in the foundation?

I jokingly entertained the thought of moving to the wife this morning. But it isn't easy with 3 kids and a mortgage.

    As they say in Texas,

Y'all will get used to it.

Purchased a pistol last Friday. I went into the LGS carrying concealed. I have a license to do that.

Filled out two forms, 4473 and new state form. Waived my HIPAA on the state form so they can access my medical records. Then I signed some store crap about what would happen in case of a denial. I've never had one of those so thinking I'm OK there. Gun guru said it would be about 2 weeks to get a proceed. We'll see. I think some metro counties are running about a month. I'm not in a metro county tho.

That's for a pistol. Goes a lot deeper for a SA rifle. Things like proof of a safety course and some other stuff. My eyes kind of glazed over when it was all explained to me. Won't be buying any rifles.

I'm not sure how VA stayed as red as it was for as long as it did.

    Good luck.

I think it was back around the midterms in 2014 where someone else from the area brought to my attention the obnoxious level of opposition and obstruction to an FFL setting up shop in the area at the time.

At what moments will it dawn upon them that they were gravely mistaken all along?

Why would you order 20s? They will be just as illegal as 30s. Maybe I'm missing something.
