What’s involved in an AUG build?

Also interested, what else do you need to finish the build?

The old guy I use for FFL transfers is quite fond of the AUG and he has a few he's built. He enjoys it but it doesn't really save much money.

I wasn’t thinking about a new build when I saw the add. More like spare parts for guys that already have an AUG.

I am a bit late here because of various issues.

Anyway, The semi-auto AUG was deliberately made in ways that would prevent a lot of full auto parts from working in a semiauto. I think this extends to the bolt carrier, or at least the cocking piece because I could swear that I had one that would not work in my AUG. I think even the stocks and fire control groups are different.

You would be better off buying a spare parts kit from here:http://www.pjs-steyraug.com/augusrparts.html for $180.00 and a spare bolt from that same location. It would cost about the same as a Apex part kit, but be usable in a semiauto AUG.
