That'll be a long time from now if you buy the Wilderness belt.

As for overthinking, there are a ton of 90% solutions. Whatever gets you to 100% will probably be subjective. The consensus here is for the Wilderness belt. That might not be the perfect answer for you, but it is assuredly not a wrong answer.

It’s ok, I was only curious. Matter of fact, it really doesn’t even matter anyway since I’m not interested in appendix carry.

Good to hear. Especially for a belt that I could’ve bought 2 of for the same price I paid for this Crossbreed belt.

So far, I’m liking that belt as well. Depending on any other recommendations, that may end up being the belt I go with. I like how it has those two polymer buckle rings as opposed to something metal and kinda sharp like both the CB and the Alien Gear belts I have.

Not to highjack, but since Graith went away, would you be willing to list some alternative AIWB belts?

I'm not VM, but perhaps the new Specialist Pro from Mastermind Tactics (which was fomerly Graith which was formerly Mastermind Tactics, sort of). I've not ordered the newest version yet, but I think it's a little cheaper (price, not quality) than the last Graith iteration. I'm sure I'll eventually get one, but I have to wear out my two Specialists first.

another fan of the blue alpha low profile belt. its easily adjusted to any tension, which for me is a must since i AIWB a few different full size pistols and want tension just right. it also has essentially no buckle to get in the way.

Stiffer isn't always better. While I have never used the polymer insert belt (never needed to since, as written above, I could carry a full size, full weight 1911 with all the extra stuff and be quite comfy), I know of folks who have and some have complained that because of the extra stiffness, the belt could pinch them or dig in their sides while seating or in other positions that aren't just standing up (like bending over and to the side to grab something). As always, that's totally dependent on the individual, but personally, I don't think you (from what I have read of your various posts) need the polymer insert.

I’m not thinking so either. Especially since I spend all day driving.

The only AIWB specific belt I'd recommend is the Megingjord from V Development Group, and yes I have direct affiliation with this company so you can take my recommendation with a grain of salt.

It has been my direct experience that AIWB belts need to be very specifically purpose built and they should not be able to double as standard traditional IWB/OWB type belts. When I designed the Megingjord I made sure the belt featured the things I needed when I work non-uniformed assignments for long hours concealing a full size pistol. Comfort becomes absolutely necessary and stiffness becomes almost negligible.

At the end of the day, you only need stiffness in one section, that's the part that holds the gun. This is primarily, and directly, consistent with AIWB type carry systems and setups.

Looking for a good gun belt.

With regards to this “specific” belt for AIWB I would say that it is primarily marketing. Sure some are going to be a bit more comfortable and the obvious ones will not work. I’ve used a variety of belts over the years and none of them were this AIWB specific. In fact, for nearly 3 solid years I had used a riggers belt with AIWB for work in the field over long days crawling over rocks, running, and wrestling noncompliant peeps.....not a single problem.....but I’m not a rep for a company nor did I design a belt.
