House cleaning + stash gun hanging on a screw = dead home owner.

This is why you should never clean your house.

Puts me in mind of the Long Gun Lonesome Blues...

There's nothing civil about this war.

Wait just a minute...so you're telling me that exposed trigger + object [intentionally] set up to possibly interfere with said exposed trigger = bad idea? Shocking. Were it not for the fact that the "victim" is probably already a grandparent, it would fall in the "Darwin Award" category.

Well, I don't know anything beyond what's in the article but my guess would be she wasn't the one who put it there. I think this sort of stupid is usually more a man thing. Who knows if she was even aware of it's presence?

Fair point - it may not have been specifically her stupidity, but it sure was someone in the house's, and it's shameful that this kind of thing happens at all.

Yup. One thing that really, really bothered me in the detective roll was cases of children finding stash guns and bad things happening.

Too easy to pocket carry around the house and have your home defense gun secured, but quickly available if needed. Lots of products available today to fit your needs.
