    $20,000 Glocks in PNG?

One of the more interesting bits of corruption to come out of last year's APEC meeting in Papua New Guinea was some of the cost spent to buy various needed (and not so needed) security supplies.

From The Australian: PNG official linked to APEC summit rorts

Hundreds of mystery hire cars and a consignment of overpriced guns are at the heart of new corruption allegations surrounding Papua New Guinea’s hosting of last year’s APEC summit.
    -snip to the interesting part-

The Australian has also learned that PNG’s police force paid nearly $20,000 each for 20 Glock pistols worth about $10,000 each in PNG and $1600 if purchased online from the US.
$1600 per Glock?!? Does ITAR not allow for Qualified Professional pricing?

Even with free shipping ,we can comfortably underbid them by at least 8.5%.
I’ll call the NRA and see about a shell company we can borrow for payment routing. Anyone got Leo Goetz’s phone #?

Tell you what. Send me $400,000, and I'll see what I can do.
(mainly spend it on 1911's for myself when I get back to the USA)

I'll have my Nigerian banker contact you. Will you take a check for $500,000 and send the excess back as a money order?

Sir, that’s considered embezzlement and is a major accounting violation. That causes a lot of paperwork.

A businessman of your stature would of course require business -related 1911s to complete this Glock supply contract. Ordering multiple Wilson Combat X-Tacs represents a necessary business expense, and we can expense the ammunition and holsters as tax deductible business costs.

Anyone asks why $4000 1911s are a business related expense, just direct them to our corporate counsel. He does happen to be a Nigerian prince, come to think of it......
