Okay, well...I'll just toss out one of what I would describe as "typical" earworm for me.
I'm not trying to do the hipster "you've probably never heard of this" thing but...most of what I grew up with, you just probably never heard of because it's pretty out there.
Fun fact: the female vocalist in this is the wife of Roger Miret, of Agnostic Front. She was my dream girl when I was about 15 and living in a punk rock flophouse.
I posted earworms of widely known music, not necessarily what I grew up with or prefer myself. One supposes a personal earworm can be anything, but if no one else knows it it kinda stops being an earworm cause it isn’t catchy to anyone else.
Here’s one from my youth, though.
The Vandals, Anarchy Burger
Another one I can still groove to... German version preferably.
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776
I'm not 100% sure I grasp the earworm concept. Is it supposed to be songs that dig into your psyche so you hear them over and over for hours at a time? Or is it supposed to be songs that dig into your psyche so that you hear them over and over for hours at a time--plus they're kinda bad or embarrassing songs?
Anyway, here's one that periodically gets stuck in my head. It's only kinda bad or embarrassing if you think of it as it was understood in its own time--that is, as serious competition to the Beatles--but you be the judge.
The play list at the Mexican place where I ate lunch varied from Mexican love songs to this...
You can thank me later.
If you have an earworm you desperately want to lose, try listening to this:
