Thread: Best $30 I have spent on a Glock

Figured if @GJM is noticing an improvement, this must be something I ought to try. Came in today, in the midst of moving 100-lb rocks around - - - with my spousal unit directing - - - to create a border in the yard. A slightly stiff back and a moderately smashed finger later (that's only slightly purple), I took a break and installed it. Certainly feels different (heavier), but will be first of the week before I can try it at range. Expecting improvement!

Was at the range this morning, shooting several different guns (never a good idea for me, as switching triggers totally screws up what little consistency I might have for trigger control at a faster pace).

Noticed I was shooting lower, noticeably so even at 10 yards, with my G19.5 with SRO. Wondered if dot had shifted, so I shot 10 rounds slow-fire, and had a nicely centered group. Fired another 10 at a quicker pace; group was centered laterally, but low.

Then the light bulb (however dim it might be) came on. This was the G19 I had put the "Thug Plug" in.

So I definitely agree with @GJM; it works. Apparently my normal recoil control (such that it is) was way overcorrecting the now-lessened amount of muzzle rise and, when my trigger finger responded to me seeing the dot come back onto the target, I had already pulled the gun down too far/fast.

Reloads were hanging up on the Thug, so blended it more.

I like mine. Seems to help “balance” the slide mass vs the plastic grip on my G19.5. I did blend it a bit per @GJM so the corner at the Mag well was more 45 than 90. Seems to help reloads slide in.

Blending the thug really helped with my reloads. Set what I think is a PR on four Aces today — .68 draw, .21, 1.04 load, .21 split for 2.14.

That’s smoking! I BARELY cracked 3sec today on one run.

My draws are still hovering in the .94-1sec range. I’m struggling to break 1.5sec reloads right now.

I have a Thug and tungsten guide rod coming, whenever they fill their back order. Shoot my first CO match this weekend.

I've had a Thug plug in my CO Glock 17 for ~2 years now. I don't know if I can really feel the difference in the weight, but filling the backstrap does seem to help a little with reloads. I think a plastic plug would probably work just as well.

    Won't fit

Picked one up for my G34.5.

Despite being as far as humanly possible in the mag well, the holes don't line up.
