SR15? It’s pretty heavy, but I can loan you one I got from a fellow PFer. I haven’t even used it yet, as I didn’t buy the muzzle device I need yet

Just the muzzle device? You should be able to flip the upper on its side and clamp it between two blocks of wood. Cover it with tape if you like. I’ve changed muzzle devices this way, most don’t take much effort to get on or off.
