Thread: Appendix Belt Recommendations

  1. #21
I've used an old Mastermind Tactics belt for several years now A LOT, a lot of use. Worn every day, sweated all over, rolled in it, etc, and it's been fantastic. I'll probably order one of the new Specialists they release soon, I hate that I missed the Graith belts.

Though I fully support the foundation belt by EDC/LTT ....

I have to ask. Did graith repo all your belts?

If you read that old thread, everyone bought about 7 of them.

Not sure why there’s a sudden shortage

I'm asking for future recommendation purposes. I like knowing where to send new-to-carry friends for quality gear.

I like my Blue Alpha Gear Low Profile EDC belt. I wear the buckle at 1:30, to the right of my front right belt loop, to keep the stiff part of the belt on the gun.

How do you tell a mother she has an ugly baby? Very carefully. That said, I don't think I've ever seen the hysteria and hyperbole over a single piece of gear as I saw with the Graith belts. I have one and I like it. I also have an Anson, Bigfoot, Wilderness, and others. None of them exactly cured cancer or otherwise changed my life. Now I see several of the gun community celebs promoting the Langdon belt. I think at a certain point, the next big breakthrough in gear (belts, holsters, etc) brings either very small gains or maybe even a big dose of placebo.

But my Blue Alpha is only now starting to show its age. I am over Velcro and it’s drawbacks so I was leaning towards a return to leather this time anyway. I’m not upset I didn’t get one of the Graith belts. I was just commenting because I went to see what all the excitement was about and they were already gone.

I've been wearing the Ox Creek Tactical belt for about 18 months now and it's been about as good as it gets. I can undo it easily enough while retaining the right tension and the only real estate loss is at 12:00. The webbing listed as "super stiff" is about what we'd consider normal for AIWB carry. I keep poking at them to change the site.

I was provided three belts and one buckle for free. The first belt was too stiff and they changed to a more suitable webbing. The code "dark star gear" will save ya 15%, I get nothing from them.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

Another vote for The Wilderness' Frequent Flyer belts. Mine are all the 5 stitch versions. Stiff enough, adjustable enough, metal free.
