    B-17 (Wings of Freedom Tour) Crashed in Connecticut

    WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — At least 6 people were injured after a military plane crashed and caught fire at Bradley Airport on Wednesday morning.

    Officials have confirmed that the plane that crashed was a B-17 historical World War II aircraft as part of the Wings of Freedom tour.

    News 8 has also learned that 13 people were on board that plane as part of that tour and that at least 6 people were injured.

    Two fatalities at this time. It’s never good when planes crash, but a flyable B-17 is a national treasure.

    Condolences to the families, both of the victims and those who toiled to get that bird restored and flying.

    I will add that the level of ignorance that the reporter displayed while interviewing the former NTSB investigator is mind numbing.

    Sad on many levels.

    My grandfather flew B-17s with the 8th Air Force (447th BG). He passed years ago but with B-17s around it is a connection.
    Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.
