    1911 broken firing pin stop

I started to clean my SDM 1911 last night and noticed this. It happened sometime on day 2 during a Vickers Tactical Advanced Handgun class but I never noticed it. The gun never missed a beat and it is the only part that has broken on it in approximately 50,000rds fired not counting thousands of dry fires.

That is the part most likely to break.

Buy 2 good oversized ones and fit them.

Harrison and EGW make good ones.
Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.

It was a EGW flat bottom firing pin stop, I think I got my money's worth out of it!

+1 to having a backup, and Harrison. Also check Wilson BP series, I used the stainless and they run to high round counts.

Yes, fit a spare, or two. Keep spare firing pins and springs, too, because those can launch if the FP stop fails.
    Retar’d LE. Kinesthetic dufus.

    Don’t tread on volcanos!

some builders have drilled/tapped the slide for a set screw to hold the FPS in place in the event it cracks in a less favorable way
