Has anyone tried this stuff? I was active duty when MRE’s were first issued. I would have preferred humping C Rats to eating MRE any day.

Wise generally gets low marks for taste compared to Mountain House, as well as using textured vegetable protein instead of actual meat.

I remember reading how their pouch integrity was in question compared to Mountain House, too.

Things may have changed, it was a few years ago when I looked at them.

wonder how they compare to patriot pantry. I like the latter.

So was I, and I share your opinion of the first batch. The military stuff has improved greatly, though I haven't had one since about '09 (retired in '11). I lived on them for a couple of months in IZ and they were bearable, though they got boring after a while.

Loved the convenience of heat tabs and C Rats. Seriously who wants anything out of a canteen cup after any time in the field.
    Congrats on your retirement.

I would stick with Mountain House or Emergency Essentials. The others do not have the nutritional value or flavor of those options.

    Good read: https://theprepared.com/homestead/re...-prepper-food/

Used to sell the Wise food and Mountain House, the Mountain House was FAR better in every way in my opinion.
