The Times and Post are reporting that the IG report is going to be a big nothing burger. The origins of Crossfire Hurricane were legit. A couple low-level scalps will be sent to Durham but no criminal referrals for big players like Clapper or Comey. Sloppiness and unprofessionalism is all that will be leveled at the top brass.
I’m anxious to see if those reports are true.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.
How about Jerry sends it to the House, Articles are approved in a Party line vote, and it goes to the Senate in late Jan or Feb?
And Mitch stage manages a series of Witnesses like Biden jr...Schiff...and of course the Whistleblower?
Seems like the D’s are doing something late Jan early Feb. The optics are not attractive lol.
I find it quite amazing this seems like a good idea at DNC HQ. it’s like 2016 all over again. All the D’s have is “Trump sucks”; which is true, but they don’t offer anything to me other than candidates espousing wacky Socialist policies?
I think we all know that the senate is going to do exactly what the house did, nothing but a show with very little substance. Votes along party lines mean nothing except people like Shifty, Pelosi, Nunes and McConnell trying to drum up votes for the 2020 election. It's all a sham no matter if it's in the house or senate. It will come down to the election. Dems better come up with something other than an impeachment vote if they want to win. So far it's not looking real promising with the cast of characters they have. As a matter of fact I think impeachment is a dishonest attempt on their part to sway voters. Could detonate early.
I'm pretty sick of the whole thing. We need term limits.

The good news -if we can call it such- is on a practical level these clowns don’t run the country.
While the corrupt Chefs dance and light fires, the cooks go about making dinner. It’s the layers beneath which do the work to keep the country going. A salient example are the Air Traffic Controllers, keeping planes safe with exemplary professionalism as the pack of unindicted criminals in DC went about their prancing about the budget last year.
It’s those people who truly run the country. Trump, the Senate, the House-figureheads.

-a Ch'an Buddhist axiom.
It wouldn't surprise me if they were true.
The idea that the origins of all this were "legit" is laughable as anyone paying attention to the details of the Flynn case can readily attest to.
But there is nothing in the Imperial City that is as distasteful as actually handing down consequences for breathtaking misuse of their powers so long as it was done in service to The Empire. Ask Lois Lerner. I mean, some of the same people involved in this were involved in the DOJ attack on Ted Stevens that brought them no consequences. Story repeats.

Trying to discredit a witness is a tactic but none of the members of the house are witnesses to the alleged abuse by Trump. Probably a waste of time. The senate needs to try to discredit the people who gave testimony like Vindman. Or find their own witnesses that tell a different story. That is proving to be difficult but they should be given the opportunity to do that, only fair.
I'm thinking they should just shut it down and vote. McConnell's going to screw it up. That guy can't do anything right. I guess we'll see what they come up with.

"Michigan Democratic Rep. Brenda Lawrence, a prominent supporter of Kamala Harris who has previously supported the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, abruptly announced Sunday that she no longer saw any "value" in the process and called for her fellow Democrats to throw their support behind a symbolic censure resolution.
Lawrence's about-face came as polls have shown that independents are souring on the idea of impeaching and removing Trump from office, including in critical battleground states like Wisconsin, even as House Democrats aggressively presented their focus-group-tested "bribery" case against the president over the past two weeks."
Will see if this gains any traction after the holidays.
Personally, I don't think the "Trump is an a-hole" argument is working any better in 2019 than it did in 2016.
I know Trump is an a-hole. I get it. I think he is an a-hole too. But the dems have to give me something better to vote for.
Right now, and I am probably being naive about this, but to me things seem to be ok, with my 401K performing the way it is, and the country in full employment, and the USA not gallivanting around the world sticking our noses in looking for WMDs.
