I doubt most of them had their lawyers and campaign staff going to prison...
(Except for Louisiana and Illinois of course)

...And here we go, to the Judiciary Committee:

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-4/4310730002/

"WASHINGTON – The House Judiciary Committee has scheduled its first hearing in the formal impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump for Dec. 4, to explore how the Constitution applies to allegations of misconduct.

No witnesses were announced. But Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., explained in a letter to Trump that the hearing will discuss the historical and constitutional basis for impeachment, as well as the intent of terms such as "high crimes and misdemeanors," for which a president can be removed."

In other words, there is no basis for impeachment unless we can somehow invent one by misinterpreting the Constitution.
With liberty and justice for all...must be 18, void where prohibited, some restrictions may apply, not available in all states.

Actually no. Congress can impeach the President for anything it wants to.

Time to start contacting your Representatives to let them know you're watching their participation in this travesty.

    Nyet....

As far as congress goes yes. But then it has to go to the Senate. Last I heard it wasn't against the law to be disliked by a bunch of mentally deranged lunatics in congress. The Senate has to hold a trial. Lawyers will be involved and lots of shit like that.

The Constitution limits grounds of impeachment to "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors". The precise meaning of the phrase "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" is not defined in the Constitution itself.

Unfortunately, it is being used to try to overturn a presidential election that the Dems lost. It started on election night in 2016. Everything they tried (Russia-gate, etc.) has failed. The bi-partisan promise of Pelosi (actually the bi-partisan vote was against impeachment) is as good as all the other Democrat promises.

Democrats know that the Senate will not vote to remove Trump by a sufficient majority. This is all show to denigrate Trump in order to try to gain votes. With the propaganda media reporting by biased opinions instead of facts, it hardly seems necessary. At least they show their colors when their false "reporting" turns out to be untrue.

The Democrat's problem is that Trump will not be removed from office, he will be reelected and Republicans will probably pick up more House and Senate seats. Apparently independents are seeing through their shenanigans.

I feel their only course of action is for censure. If they vote to impeach, too many witnesses that they have denied to the Republicans will be testifying in the Senate and then the Democratic sham will be exposed in full.
