Thread: RFI Graith Buckle Position AIWB

    RFI Graith Buckle Position AIWB

I carry AIWB with a Keeper. I generally wear a 34 waist pant. I'm 6ft, 180lbs. I just got a Graith Specialist.AL in a size 36. I tried it on with a large T shirt that doesn't really print much in my crummy old belt. The belt is high quality, but I feel like it's printing a bit more for me. I'm wondering if I should have gotten a 34. If thats the case I need to get on it fast to correct it.

Holster Position on the clock face?
Which way do you thread your belt, clockwise or counter?
    Where is your buckle positioned?
Does your tail go back over your holster?
Does your holster ride in the reinforced portion of the belt?
Is there an excess of space between your belt and pelvis?

The belt is superb quality, and definitely more comfortable than my crappy old tru-spec POS. I feel like I'm either positioning it wrong, or could move down a size. The reinforcement is soooo much nicer for the weight on my rearish hips. Total quality from the stitches to the packaging.

Buckle at 12. Tail over holster.

There is a distinct horizontal line in person.

Notice the tail end pointy print.

Buckle at sandwiched between holster and belt loop. Puts my holster just barely where I don't want it.

I wear the buckle at 1200 because its so slim. I thread the belt in tail going into my left belt loops first. I do that so I can use the belt to overlap whatever attachment on the holster I'm using to aid in concealment. What I noticed when using a keeper with the belt was that the solid clip along with overlapping the belt on top of the clip made it thicker in that area (along with the design of the holster) then say using soft loops or a “wing claw” style holster thus I switched to soft loops on my keepers which helped but ultimately switched to a “wing claw” style holster because it fit my leaner physique better. It allowed for less wedge bulge at the belt line.

I thread all of my Mastermind / Graith belts clockwise around my body, opposite the way we do with a leather belt with a traditional buckle.

As a righty, I position the holster between 12.30 and 1.30 depending on the gun carried and belt loops.

Buckle is swiveled over to the left and nestles against the belt loop at approximately 11.00

The holster is supported by the full thickness of the belt. The tail goes over toward my weak side hip.
There's nothing civil about this war.

I might need to try some positions with reverse thread direction.

This exactly. Tried several different methods and ended up finding the method described above was the optimal configuration.

Bro, you ever get accused of sweating the small stuff?

I wear mine like your first pic, buckle at 12 with tail over holster. I like it best cause the holster can't slide around and my mag carrier on the other side is pinned between the buckle and a belt loop - everything is kinda locked in place and consistent.

I Don't ever notice or worry about a little line of printing here or there - nobody really notices that like you think they will. I think your fine from what I'm seeing.

    Humbly improving with CZ's.

Hahahaha, all the time. Get it from Mom, and Dad laughs about it on a regular basis.

The printing is definitely there. In person it's nearly as bad as that Trex arms picture where they all print horrifically. With it in the first manner it's plenty comfortable, but has an absolute shelf that sticks out. If i had a more prominate chest (on my to do list) it likely would be a non issue.

I'm not normally in just a Tshirt. I wear button downs a lot, but like to get away with Tshirts when I can. I'm going to try the reverse thread mentioned above tomorrow.

I don't think it's uncommon for some of us to really sweat the small stuff... I too have worried over the "belt shelf" but in reality it's way more visible to the wearer looking down at their own waist line than it is to anyone else. Then add in the fact that most normal people just won't ever look and study that part of your anatomy and it really is an overblown concern... But I still understand the desire to be as discreet as possible.

I run the belt either direction, depends on what I am using to carry a spare mag. I push the buckle ALL the way over so it is right against the belt loop to the left of the button or pant snap. I find it really helps to "taper" out the buckle shape. If I threaded from the left, than the tail goes over my fixed soft loops, if from the right, than it goes over the loop for my SnakeEaters IWB mag pouch at the 1130 position. I can do this all day, every day carrying a Glock 45 in a RedOne Shivworks at the 1:00 O'clock, wearing one of those "wicking" t-shirt's, black, if you please.

My belts are buckle on the right, tail to the left. JMCK AIWB 2.5 at 12:30. The holster position never varies. I put the buckle at 11:00 if I have a fixed blade with handle up, or no fixed blade. If I’m using a Clinch Pick, the buckle goes at 10:00 behind a belt loop, which is a pain in the ass when I drop trow.
