I know this was covered in another thread. As someone who very much wants to be one of those moving from California to a freer state - you can damn well bet I’m bringing my politics with me. While there is no doubt that some just don’t get it and since they were brainwashed to vote using “the feelies” - they will vote dem despite being a refugee; it seems that a great deal who move from Kalifornia do get it as this article points out. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/poli...it-poll-shows/

So to all those in Texas or Colorado or even my home state of Wyoming - I will evoke and paraphrase Jordan Peterson - “Clean your own room first “

Exit polls show one thing - election results another. - https://www.politico.com/election-results/2018/texas/

Of the counties Beto carried in 2018, four of them were listed by the US census as being four of the top-10 fastest growing counties in the U.S. (https://www.census.gov/newsroom/pres...ro-county.html). Two more Texas counties were on the Census list, Denton and Collin counties, both historically GOP counties, due to a large centralization of wealth, Beto did not win either of those counties by a wide margin.

Without knowing where the exit poll data came from it's impossible to draw any serious conclusions from it. Also these data make no sense. Why are there two responses to the same question, with the same number of responses, yet 58% in one response were born in Georgia and 58% in the other were born in Texas. Oh, because they reused the plot and probably fudged the numbers? Which is clear in the second plot, when they combined "moved to Texas" into one plot, instead of >10 years, <10 years and come up with radically different percentiles that simply don't add up. I wouldn't take any of these data seriously in any way.

I have heard that there is movement, in Texas, to require political candidates to run by their legal name; no more nicknames, if the law passes. Beto no mas; Robert Francis O’Rourke.

I have also heard that there is movement toward the ballots no longer showing party affiliation, and eliminating straight-ticket voting.

I have no idea how likely either of these are, along the real-world scale of probability.

@Rex G - I believe straight ticket voting is gone as of 2020. Already passed, I'm just not sure about the cutoff date. You can still vote all R or D or whatever, but you'll have to vote for each open seat individually.
@RevolverRob even as a Texas-loving transplant who would prefer Texas stay how it was, I'd have to agree that the "Texas Way" is slowly fading. Driven by suburban sprawl and mobile phones. The Kardashinization of America.

The bit of good news is that the several Cali transplants I've run into recently are on board with leaving the bad stuff in California.

    ETA:
Straight ticket will no longer be an option starting in 2020.

You mean the illiterate hordes bussed around to the polls aren't going to be able to vote straight D anymore.
Their handlers are going to have a hell of a time training them to pick the right candidate out of a list.
    LOL
    Dat's racist.
