I've shot the NAA minis quite a bit. It would not be a primary. Can you hit something, yes you can. Is the second shot slow (you only have 5), oh yes it is. If you have to put it away once cocked and you are excited, it may get more exciting. It's only for a BUG or some NPE reason.

As far as carry, I can only offer my style. An OWB, I don't find IWB or Appendix comfortable with my configuration. A Glock and an extra mag can be hidden, as mentioned with the Columbian or Magellan light wt. summer shirts for the heat in places like FL or TX. Get a moisture wicking loose t for under it. Good belt and suspenders if needed (Perry for me) and your gun is fine.

When I read folks who say they must OC because of the heat - well , it was 100 deg. today and has been for ages and I've worn what I described all day with no discomfort except that its a DAMN 100 deg.

My other suggestion, is to carry a gun you shoot well and trained with - discussing various guns and how to carry them that don't get shot in a well thought out training regime is putting the cart before the horse.

22LR is a weird round. Haven’t really heard the same about 22 magnum.

But I wouldn’t want to call it meaningless. And I certainly wouldn’t compare it to a snap in the nads with a rubber band. I wouldn’t want to be shot by any gun, irregardless of the caliber, especially at close range.

You shouldn't have to have your belt that tight just because of the weight of a gun if it's a proper gun belt. Now if you're just shaped so that you need a belt that tight even without a gun, can't help you.
Well I guess maybe it is my just my shape because after sitting for most of the day, either of my two belts just feel like they’re too tight. But if I loosen them anymore, I feel like my pants are gonna fall down. Hell for all I know it because my pants don’t ride high enough or I’m just not pulling them up enough.

I don't know if he still makes them, and they are pricey, but Red Nichol's curved gunbelt (he's sold them both as "triple curve" and "side winder") are the absolute best gun belt I've ever used. It curves naturally to the body and you don't have to constantly hike your pants back up after getting in and out of your car. I'm wearing one right now and it's supporting a Glock 17M, spare mag, handcuffs, and radio with no issues at all. Well, technically it's not supporting the radio *right now* as it's on my desk while I type this, but you get the idea.
I don’t know if I want to spend 200 bucks on a belt. But I have to ask... isn’t a duty belt just a little bit different from a typical reinforced gun belt??

That was mostly what I was referring to with the "ergonomics" statement. I'm not a believer in anything you have to manually lower the hammer on for serious use.

Sub 2" barrel, there's not enough difference between .22 mag and .22 LR to matter.

Take a look at 2" barrel velocities for the two:

The sidewinder isn't a duty belt. I'm detailed back to my old office at the moment and am plain clothes again.

I will admit to buying a NAA 22S Mini. It was a just because gun. It appealed to me because it was so cute. It fit into the cuteness metric of stubby and pudgy that makes babies and puppies cute. It's built into us to recognize it. Product manufacturers use it for cars that appeal to certain demographics that like cute babies as compared to designing vicious sports cars.

Can't hit anything with it except by chance or close contact. It was just so cute. Loading and unloading it is frightening. I think I did it twice. You can wear it around your neck and someone made a device for a pull off neck chain.

I had two rival recreational pharmaceutical salesmen have a professional disagreement over a given marketplace. #1 had a little necklace revolver. #2 had a duty sized revolver. #2 left #1 toes up in a doorway and was acquitted due to a (somewhat reasonable) self-defense claim. I know, anecdote and not data, but it's illustrative of a few such events.

I've gone to mostly pocket carry in these: https://www.duluthtrading.com/mens-d...nts-work-pants

Either a Glock 26, 43 or a J-Frame. The pockets are deep enough that I could carry a Glock 19. In the summer I wear a heat gear T-shirt of some kind. I feel your pain with getting over heated.

I also sometimes use a Vanguard 2 AIWB for a J-Frame. https://rcsgear.com/vanguard-minimal...=newest&page=2 Unfortunately they don't make then for a J any more. Mine is tuckable and I use it while driving and blouse my t-shirt over the loop. Probably lots of similar options out there.

I had worn blue jeans for decades and the switch to cargo work pants took some getting used to. Now I fill my pockets with stuff and wonder how I ever got along with so few pockets.

I like the Wrangler cargo pants & shorts for pocket carry- or just in general.
The extra cell phone pocket is super useful for a lot of things- pepper spray or magazines or flashlight or even a cell phone.

And if you want a good belt for not a lot of money, the Graith Specialist 2 is a good one.
It is amazing how a proper belt made for concealed carry will make a huge and noticeable difference in comfort and concealibility.

Even at 74 bucks a pair, I’m liking those cargo pants. Pocket carry could definitely be easily accomplishable with those.

How long do they last? With me being a truck driver- even a local rock hauler to boot who gets dirty more’n you think, I’m not that rough on jeans but I would imagine you’d definitely get your money’s worth out of them.

I don't know. I've only been wearing them for 3 years. There is a small hole starting in one pair that started before I modified my AHolster so it wouldn't rub. You can easily tell the older ones that have been washed many times, but they are holding up well.

Right front pocket has a pistol. Right cargo pocket has keys, money clip and ear plugs and a knife clipped on. Outer cargo pocket has a couple of pens. Right rear pocket only has a hanky. Left rear pocket has a speed strip if carrying a J. Left front pocket has wallet, phone, Surefire light, nail clippers, small Swiss knife, chap stick and loose change. Left front cargo pocket is car keys, date book and a small cheap light. Little small front cargo pocket holds a speedloader or spare mag.
