Thread: M&P9 2.0 CORE

  1. #61

    2.0 C.O.R.E.

I stumbled upon this thread in my ongoing attempt to see if Smith has released more 2.0 C.O.R.E. pistols. I am eager to get a 4" model. My rep said they are coming but at SHOT show this year everyone in the Smith booth acted like they had no idea. I did get the standard model last year and really like it. Everyone I show it to wants one.

    M&P 2.0 CORE, 5 inch

Anyone considering the M&P 2.0 5” core for USPSA carry optics?
I am also curious if a Romeo 1 pro will work, same footprint as DPP.

The Romeo 1PRO works. One of our guys runs one. You have to use a plate (I think #4) and remove the bosses then it fits.

I FINALLY got my hands on one. Interestingly mine came with low night sights not the usual suppressor/co-witness height sights. That fortunately provided a good excuse to order a set of Dawson Precision CORE fiber optic sights. I'm looking forward to the release of the 4” and 5” guns but until then I may end up experimenting with this upper on my M2.0 Compact frame.

Local dealer has I'm guessing 1.0 9mm pro. I think for $700. I've looked at it but with reports of poor accuracy I'm kind of hesitant.

You can order the regular 2.0 guns (not C.O.R.E.) for $350-$409, leaving plenty of money to get something milled.
This might be the direction I end up going.

A couple of months ago Gen 1 COREs were all over GunBroker for around $550.00, brand new. Since those have apparently been sold off, now used Gen 1 COREs are running from around $600.00, and the skys the limit. I saw an unfired NOS 40 S&W for about $800.00, yikes! As soon as the 2.0 CORES hit the streets the used Gen 1 guns will be very difficult to sell for any price. BTW, RSR & Lipseys lists 2.0 COREs on their web sites, but don't show any stock yet. I imagine the first batches are probably already pre-sold at the distributor level.

They need to hurry their asses up. The M&P is probably one of my favorite polymer guns out there but to be so behind on an optics ready model is dumb as heck.

Just because I have nothing else to contribute, here's a 20 yard offhand 5 shot group through my police trade in M&P40 with a 9mm conversion barrel.
