How do you like the wide thumb safety? My Wilson has the narrow tactical levers and I am lukewarm on them. I like a beefier thumb safety to get a grip on.

Shot it again today, and the slide continued to lock back pre-maturely. @Pit, looks like you were right (I think you posted it on the 1911 forum, not here)— the slide stop appears to be out of spec. I’ll be contacting Wilson.
It’s probably the shelf on the Wilson slide stop lever. Your support hand’s the thenar eminence (meaty part below the thumb) will hit it when using an aggressive thumbs forward grip. I have this problem with my Wilsons - especially my stock EDC X9 that needed to have the shelf milled off to be flush with the plunger tube for reliability.

I shot it again today one-handed and still had the problem, so I went ahead and sent an email to WC.
I’m used to shooting Dan Wessons, which have a very wide slide stop, which I like, so I sorta figured I wasn’t inducing it— I guess I was just wishing it was me and not the gun.
The slide stop lever, plunger pin, and spring got replaced on my 9mm CQB Elite after a couple of trips back to Wilson for FTF malfunctions that were initially attributed to premature slide lock by my support hand. However, it would only occur with 147 grain HST. I sent them videos on a thumb drive of me shooting strong hand only to prove that it wasn’t my support hand.

Interesting. I’m guessing this one will have to go back to Wilson. It’s my 4th WC, and will be the second to have to immediately go back to the factory. I know they’ll take care of it, but I expect better.
In my case, the FTF malfunction only happened with 147 grain JHP or flat nosed 147 grain AE, but mostly HST. Like you, I had it narrowed down to a slide lock issue that was riding up into the slide notch during recoil for some reason. Sometimes there was a FTF induced by the slide velocity being affected by the lever riding into the notch; other times the slide would prematurely lock back. There was no copper on the inside edge of the slide lock to suggest contact with bullets in the magazine.
I sent it back once and Wilson returned it as in spec after firing several mags of FMJ. That was a bit frustrating because I was very specific that the malfunction occurred mostly with HST. I used a GoPro to video the gun failing on every magazine of 147 grain HST or GD while fired strong hand only. I even zoomed in on the slide after a malfunction to show the slide lock sometimes activated despite being fired strong hand only to prove that it wasn’t user/induced. That resulted in multiple parts being replaced. The gun runs fine now.
