    Rangemaster Shotgun Instructor Development Course

There is real concern about restricting or even banning ARís at both the federal and some statesí level. There is also the very real issue of being dealt with by the authorities in a more unfriendly manner if an ďevil assault rifleĒ were used in a home invasion or business defense scenario. Given this, I believe we will see a resurgence in the popularity of the serious social shotgun over the next few years. This course is designed to teach you about the shotgun, including what it does and does not do well.
Three-Day Defensive Shotgun Instructor Development Course

Oct 18-20, 2019. Friday through Sunday, at Dallas, Texas

    Dallas Pistol Club, Carrollton, Texas

The shotgun is one of the most effective and versatile weapons the individual police officer or private citizen can normally access. It is also the least understood and mis-used weapon system we have. Over the course of three full days of training, candidates will learn about:
    Shotgun Selection
    Modifications and Accessories
    Ammunition Capabilities and Selection
Shooting Technique for Defensive Shooting, not sporting use
    Efficient Gunhandling Techniques
    Patterning
    Tactical Application
    Modern Teaching Methodology.

Students will need a pump or semiauto shotgun with a barrel length of from 18Ē to 22Ē, or a legal SBS. You will fire approximately 300 rounds of birdshot, 150 rounds of buckshot, and 30 slugs. Registered students will receive a detailed equipment list prior to class, and each will be issued a comprehensive manual and a 2+ hour DVD at class. Prior registration is required.

    Just curious Tom,

Have you ever had anyone show up with a Tac 14? Either braced or unbraced? Just curious if someone would ever take a shotgun class with a stockless shotgun.

Iíll respond, I took Tomís 4 hour block at Tac Con with my braced Tac 14. Dagga Boy was there and shot a VMax 13 or whatever itís called without a brace and did quite well. Everyone else shot a traditional configuration.

That 4 hour block is the most I've had anyone try with a stockless shotgun. Darryl Bolke will be taking my shotgun instructor course with one, and I expect he will do just fine with it. But, he's Bolke.

Arrived in Dallas, Texas, this afternoon to teach a Defensive Shotgun Instructor Development Course this Friday through Sunday. This is one of my favorite courses to teach, and with all the threats to confiscate or restrict ARís, I think we will see a big resurgence in the scattergunís popularity over the next year.

The next such course will be in Leesburg, Florida, in March. This is near Orlando, so you can drop the family off at Disney or Universal and come get your learn on. For details, see
