Two years ago I retired a 2nd time from Louisiana state service. The 1st from LSP and the 2nd as a State Contracts and Grants Officer. I retired and moved to East Greenwich, RI to get married. I also accepted a federal civil service position with the Army Contracting Command as a Contract Specialist.

The job requires certification in contracting through the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and is a 2 yr process. I’m sitting in Reagan Nation Airport sipping a Maker's Mark. I just finished my last class and am flying back from 2 weeks in Pax River, MD.

This summer has been nuts. I was gone for 2 weeks in June, July and August. But I’m done!
