    Old School PPC anyone?

I recently acquired this 1954 vintage K-38 with custom heavy barrel out of SoCal. My best guess is that it was someone's PPC gun in the '60's or '70's before ribs became a thing. Frame has been cut for the custom stocks. While the stocks look like Hurst's work at first glance, I think they are from another of the old LAPD masters. Hurst mostly used a diamond around the grip screw instead of the semi circular work here. He also included a border line along the bottom of his checkering which this pair doesn't have. Could these be early examples of Guy Hogue's work? Action is very smooth, trigger has had the grooves ground off, still retains the SA notch. Front sight base and blade have very fine grooves.

That’s what sealed the deal for me. They are very ergonomic.
