Thread: carry vs. match pistol trigger weights.

carry vs. match pistol trigger weights.

    Hello everyone.

What is everyone's favorite carry pistol, and match pistol?
What is the trigger pull weight for each?

(If a DA/SA, single action weight, as most scales won't weigh the DA pull).

    Thank you,

    BR

My 2011 guns have the best match triggers. 2# on the .40 limited gun, 1.5# on my SV Open gun, which breaks like a glass rod. Both done by EGW (dating myself).

Carry guns stay Stock for me. EDC X9 is about 5#. G43 is 7#.

About 3 on a competition gun, seldom much more, sometimes slightly less. About 4 on a carry gun.

The quality of the trigger break is far more important (to me anyway) than the weight.

I'll also submit that if you are using some electronic trigger gauge (made in China) you don't really know what your pull weight is anyways....
Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.

When I used to compete, I'd replace the single-sided safety on my custom Colt with an ambi, and bolt on a magwell. No difference in the rest of the gun. 4# trigger
