If one already has one of the lock boxes with cheap locks, what would you suggest as a higher quality replacement lock?

I had pickup tool boxes that mounted along the top sides of the bed long ago, they had the really cheap locks. I got better tubular locks for them. I realize any lock can be compromised, but I at least wasnt able to with another key wiggled in the lock like I was with the original locks that were on the tool boxes.

The Camlock T8 is a decent lock for the money.

Abloy is really good and probably too expensive for most to justify on an inexpensive box. They are usually just two position with one key pull (in the locked position). Cost and only one key pull are why I chose the T8 for my applications.

Medeco would probably slot in between the other two.

    Thank you.

Ive also been thinking of making a couple built in lock boxes, Id have to fabricate them from scratch.

Huh. I would buy one. I’ve got one like what DB posted. It has weaknesses.

My Durango is probably going to become a home to a box like the other one.
