    The USCG has always done more with less. Until the wars, they are the only branch that has constant, real world missions going on 24/7. I used to hear from colleagues in other branches "You guys are out there doing the job, we just train" Granted, this was Cold War era. I served in both the CG and Army (Reserve and NG components in big green) and agree. If I could turn back time I would have stayed in
