Open Letter to the Firearms Industry

Please post your wishes, hopes and dreams about the guns you would like to own below:

1911 Commander sized pistol that uses a semi-double stack 45 ACP magazine like the 10 round M&P 45 magazine.

Springfield EMP with a double stack magazine.

A pistol with Glock reliability, a metal magazine and glass reinforced high strength polymer frame. Think M&P or HK P30/VP9 construction, ergonomic grip, Etc. OK a new Glock with 21st century technology. Oh, and make it look better, just because….

A double stack, Shield. Can’t let Sig have all of the fun.

Someone (S&W, Sig. Etc.) add an ambi slide release to a subcompact pistol for us sinistral shooters and for the righties that don’t know they need one for weak handed emergencies.

Reimagine the 45 GAP in 45 ACP. Add 0.106 inches to the length of the grip and away we go. G37, G38 and G45. All Gen 5 pistols.

Partnership between Trijicon and Glock or H&K to sell factory assembled and supported direct milled RMR-equipped pistols with co-witnessing night sights.

G43x arena pistol that is DAO or DA/SA. Reliable, current production, and durable.

Not sure what an arena pistol is, but I’d second a light weight, reliable slim line 9mm.

Walther Q5 steel frame with paddle mag release using PPQ M1/P99 mags, plus a *reliable* optic to go with it, and while I'm wishing for things that won't happen, I'd also like the price to come down by several hundred dollars.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
Development of additional closed emitter RDS options, including smaller ones suitable for CCW and single stack guns like the G43 and G48.

Optional MOS version of the G26.

    Optional RDS-prepped versions of the G43, G43x and G48.

Ruger SP101 in .32 Fed with a 6-inch barrel. Because the GP is more gun than that cartridge needs, but the cartridge wants a 6-inch barrel. And I just don't get excited about single actions, for some reason.

The practical bolt gun that is discussed in JLW's thread.

    Another run of P226 SBSS.

Companies that manufacture revolvers and certain side-eject lever guns to unkitten their respective QC. Learn the lesson that Toyota and Honda taught the rest of the automotive industry: shipping defects and fixing them later is a path to bankruptcy.

Stop thinking that because Nills Griffe applies beautiful workmanship to his ideas that every new gun should be shaped like his ideas.

This sounds awesome, but unlikely in this soft market.
