Yeah, me too. Pollen was fierce all over last night.
It hit something pretty deep. For one thing, my own father died when I was 13. For another, the son is exactly my age, and when I was 5, at the time he was waving goodbye to his father, instead of writing a letter to my grandparents one week, I wrote a letter to the soldiers. My mom figured the newspaper would be able to get it to a platoon with soldiers from Philadelphia. They ended up publishing it and writing a story about it, and when I got lots of replies and patches they wrote another story. This brought all of that back.
