I joined the club yesterday, adding a 48.

50 rounds at the range went fine, but as we all know the plastic sights have to go. And Brownells is out of stock on the orange Agents.

Trigger is good with a solid wall as described by many. It’s a little slippery so some stippling is in order once fully vetted.
I ordered a Tenicor for it before I realized my JM “long” 43 holster will fit.

    Now to find mag pouches...

Does the 48 shoot noticeably softer in terms of recoil ? If that makes sense. She finds the 19 more pleasant to shoot compared to the 26 hence the question.

    I think a 48 is snappier than a 26.

    I also think a 19 is noticeably snappier than a 17.

I find the 48 noticeably more pleasant than the 43X. If I shoot 250 rounds in an hour with a 43X my hands will be feeling it. With a 48 not so much.

The 19 could be more pleasant than the 26 because of the full size grip and the 48/43x has a G19 length grip.

On the other hand, the G48/43x is thinner than the G19 which means that the recoil is concentrated on a smaller area of the web of the hand which could make the gun feel worse. And, the G48/43x are less grippy than the G19 which could make the former feel "squirmier" than the latter.

I think you're going to have to find out for yourself. Felt recoil can't easily be generalized.

I'm about 850 rounds into the 43X/HS507C combo.

    Current round count post-milling is:
    147gr HST - 144
    115gr Federal Black Pack - 410
    115gr Remington UMC - 235
    147gr Blazer Brass - 75

I did have one stoppage, a failure to eject with a round of Federal Black Pack 115gr ammo. That same ammo gave me my first stoppage in a vetted G19 as well, so I'm thinking it may be the ammo. I'm sitting on about 1500 rounds of the stuff, along with a decent mix of Remington, Federal, Winchester, and Blazer in 115, 124, and 147, so hopefully I'll get a decent enough mix through it.

Performance-wise, it tracks very flat and I can expect reasonably accurate (4x6" card chest zone) fire at .3 splits on demand at 5-7 yards, which is right about where I want them for my purposes. First-round hits are about on par with my G19 as far as time/distance/target size goes. Sunday, I did a pair of Casino Drills at the range in 16.93 and 17.06, both clean -- not amazingly impressive, but I haven't shot that drill in quite some time. Dot torture was cleaned at 3yds. I do have to mind my trigger control, however -- I find it very easy to snatch the trigger when I'm not focused. I'm hoping to get some decent accuracy testing in later this week, as my last attempt was pretty dismal.

All in all, assuming things stay reliable, I'd honestly be very happy with this for CCW. Whereas my G19 is an 85% solution, the 43X is closer to a 95% solution for concealment. Works great lounging around the house and to/from the gym, which was the intended role for the gun.

Are the Ameriglo bold option on the Glock 48 regulated now? I like the 6 o'clock hold were the bullet hits just above the tip of the front blade.

Also has anyone tried a different connector in them? I just realized my original g43 has the original heavy connector and not the newer minus connector. I actually don't mind the weight of the trigger but I'd like less of a wall, more of a rolling break. Supposedly Glock will send a newer minus connector to a certified Glock armorer, but the closest one is over an hour away so I'll probably just try a different connector.

    Thanks

I got a 48 about a week ago with the ameriglo sights. They hit drive the dot at 10 yards and tip of the front sight at 25. That’s with Federal 147 grain ammo.

One non-scientific data point to add. I have just over 5K rounds through 2 p365s and one 365XL. Not a lot but enough to draw some conclusions. The guns don’t like the 124g Speer Lawman Clean Fire. Out of 2K rounds I averaged 1 failure to feed/return to battery per box. The next round didn’t fully load and locked up the gun. The magazine has to be removed to fix the issue. This is acceptable to me for practice as I’m shooting indoors and chose the Law Man CF for the lack of lead etc.

No issues at all with Aguila 124, Winchester 124 nato equivalent, or 124 HST +p. I switched back and forth a few times during range sessions to make sure it wasn’t dirty guns, magazines, etc. causing the issue.

The taper of the bullet/casing in the Law Man CF is extreme and if I had to guess that would be the culprit. But who knows. I’m going to try some other “clean” brands. Just a data point.

Well, I aborted the 2,000 round challenge today on my 43X. Total round count was 1375 rounds without additional cleaning or lubrication:

    175x Federal HST 147gr JHP
530x Federal Black Pack 115gr FMJ
    225x Blazer 147gr FMJ
    285x Remington UMC 115gr FMJ
    160x Federal Range 115gr FMJ

I had two stoppages. The first was with the Black Pack ammo, roughly 500 rounds in, and it was a failure to eject. I chalked that up to weak ammo (the BP stuff also made a known-to-be-reliable G19 choke in the same way, and my Ruger PC Carbine doesn't seem to like it either) and kept on going. Today, however, about 125 rounds into my range time, I had a failure to return to battery with the Federal Range 115gr stuff. The slide stopped about a quarter of an inch out of battery. I noted that I could feel the gun cycling very sluggishly throughout the remaining 200 or so rounds and felt that more FTRBs were likely, particularly with lighter loads.

Upon inspection, there was a significant amount of caked-on grime inside the cuts for the slide rails which took some effort to remove. The gun was indeed dry (previously lubed 12/7/2019). The extractor and feed ramp seemed fine, however.

Last year I was mostly buying 147gr Speer Lawman and Blazer Brass, both of which are higher PF loads and likely helped with a dry, gunked up gun. I picked up a few thousand various 115gr bulk pack stuff around the holidays for rather cheap, however, so I've been shooting that and stockpiling the 147gr stuff in anticipation of election season shortages. My working theory is that the smaller guns simply aren't as tolerant of neglect as the service-size guns, particularly with lighter ammo. Of note, I had no failures with my HSTs.

B8 accuracy remains elusive for me, and I've been having some difficulty keeping them all in the black. My best with this gun is a 96. I find the trigger pull to be more difficult with the 43X vs. my Gen 5 G19s, as the break is less of a roll and it's also heavier. I can pass the 5 Yard Roundup with ease using the 43X and have cleaned Dot Torture with it several times. Scores on the Test (avg 97-99) and Super Test (avg 275-280) are roughly equivalent to those with my G19, and I am happy with how the gun behaves at speed. Today I shot a passing score on the DB LAPD SWAT Qualification, and also turned in a 17.07 clean Casino Drill on Lee Weems's TxT target (smaller shapes, more of a transition for some shapes as they're arranged to fit around an FBI Q). My best FAST with the 43X is a 6.28, which is about where I'm at with the G19 on a good day.

In sum, I think I'm now familiar enough with the gun to carry it. While I would have preferred a pass on the 2,000 round challenge, I still think the gun's reliable enough to carry so long as it's kept cleaned and lubricated.
