Posted with a 30.07 (prohibits open carry) as are most of the businesses in that area.

Cielo Vista is one of my usual stops when i'm in El Paso as there's a nice watch dealer in the shopping center east of the mall.
That area is always packed with upper class shoppers from Mexico.

So the plan is Trump uses background checks to get Dems to sign off on immigration. Playing let’s make a fucking deal with my rights is bullshit.

Well after watching the speech this indeed seems part of the plan..along with red flag laws, and looking into violent computer games (it's about time) I'm not getting the warm and fuzzies over the red flag laws, the potential for abuse is staggering...

I don't like it either, but let's not forget the NRA did this more than once...

This is weird. Shooter was white supremacist, no doubt, but also hated automation and corporations, and thought we needed to lower the population so that Universal Badic Income and universal healthcare would have a better chance

I'm not sure how a simple approach can really accomplish much about this problem. Here's a FP article that covers a lot of internet troll territory before finally getting around to calling for gun control:

What can be done about this situation? Little in my experience has led me to suspect that pervasive internet censorship will do much more than drive this further underground. However, it seems legally and technically feasible to moderate the hell out of private forums. And really, I don't find a lot of value in participating in unmoderated internet discussions because they turn worthless so quickly.

Maybe we could have social media user's permits, which one could get upon turning 25, taking a course, and passing a test. Until then, young men would have to be out of mom's basement doing something vaguely character building out in society face to face with people.

No, most of the extreme white supremacists are actually socialists. It's just socialism for their preferred group, rather than for everybody.

    National Socialist is two words.

I had the displeasure of knowing a self professed White-Supremacist in college. He was in the National Guard with me as well as in my ROTC unit (he never did get his commission and only served a year or two). I took it as an opportunity to see what made him tick. Lets just say that *if* he was representative of most White-Supremacists then there is pretty much NOTHING in their ideology that we could objectively look at as a "Conservative" value. He liked guns and military &%#t which is about as close as it gets. When it came to such "Conservative" values as small government, fiscal conservatism, and traditional values - he wanted a powerful government as long as it was all white, was fine with fiat currency as long as the "Jews" weren't controlling it, and hated Christianity and was a self professed follower of Odin. He was simply a typical "Statist" who only believed the Northern European races should be in charge. Kind of reminded me of a group of people I read about in a history book.

Anyhow - the whole narrative that White-Supremacists are the extreme wing of the "conservatives" or "right" wing of America is so false you might as well believe in Unicorns being ridden by the Lucky Charms guy.....

In my personal opinion, anyone who has tried to get mental health care for a family member has had a front row seat to the issue. Its is EXTREMELY HARD to get mental health care. Find a Doc that doesn't have horrible reviews and your first hurdle is overcome. Get one that takes your insurance, hurdle #2. It seems most good Dr's are cash and carry or take very limited insurance. Hurdle number 3, your first appointment is in 3 months...... And the advice from the office about what to do in the mean time? Take them to the ER if you have to. The advice from the Dr. about going to the ER. DONT DO IT if you absolutely dont have to, Nothing good will come of it! Im fortunate that I have solid resources. Other parents I have talked to mirror my own experience. But if it is this hard for us, I can imagine the difficulty for a family with less resources. So how many people that truly need mental health assistance go completely untreated?
