Visit to Shiloh Rifles in Big Timber, MT

Last week I had the good fortune to visit Shiloh Rifles in Big Timber, MT: https://shilohrifle.com/. I have a reproduction 1885 Winchester BPCR made by Miroku in Japan: http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...dge-rifle.html. My BPCR is a great rifle and an absolute blast to shoot with 535 grain bullets. However, the Shiloh rifles have a soul that my Miroku does not. The Shiloh shop oozes old world quality. They make everything in house - except some sights which they source from MVA: https://montanavintagearms.com/sights/. The fancy woods were a joy to behold. If you're ever passing through Big Timber on I90, stop by Shiloh. You won't regret it. From the Big Empty, ELN.

I stopped by on TU 07/23/2019. Unfortunately, C. Sharps was closed. I tried. :-(

In case anyone is wondering how much to LARP as Tom Selleck in Quigley Down Under:

    1874 QUIGLEY
    $3,533.00

BTW, if I lived out in MT or WY, these would be hard to resist!

I stumbled past their shop on a road trip last summer. Cutting through town and didn't realize where I was while with the family. And for the record, those Quigley rifles are sweet shooting pieces. My dad has had one for years and I'll shoot it any time I have the chance.

Did you get the factory tour? I was driving across the country back in 2014 and saw a sign for the factory saying they do tours. I stopped in and asked and they showed me the whole shop. Not a big place but it was really cool to see. They had an ancient milling machine that they just use to make the slots on straight screw heads. They said that they use it to repair older rifles as you can't exactly go buy the older screws in a shop as they were a non-standard size.
