    Timers?

I find myself, at an advanced age, doing a little training again. I had given this up back in '04 and have none of the "stuff" I used to have that was necessary. Like a timer for instance. Since electronics have changed so much in the last 15 years (and the timer I used to have was old in '04) I'm curious what small, very portable and simple to use (I'm a bit of a Ludite) timer would you folks recommend?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

It's not perfect but this one is pretty damn nice.

I don't have one but I have seen Mike Pannone use one while instructing.

I still use the 1st gen of that and like it. The face is soft and scratches fairly easily, but other than that it's been everything I wanted.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

For a "bit of a Ludite" like myself, I recommend a Competition Electronics Pocket Pro 2.

    It has,
    variable delay time
    variable par time,
    variable shot dead time
    variable mic sensitivity
    variable back light time
screen type with large readout or small readout with more info or RPM (rounds per minute)

It will not interface with bluetooth , wifi or anything other than read the display and write it down. Does not keep old strings in mem.
It has a moderately loud beep, if it locks up just remove the 9volt batt and reinstall to boot it back up. If you drop it and the batt contacts compress, just take the batt out, use a small screwdriver to bend them back up, reinstall the batt and drive on.

it's accurate, rugged, fits the hand and uses 9 volt batts, shuts off after being idle for10 minutes and saves batt life.

You can find it a lot cheaper than it's $136.95 list price.

I’ve had both a Pocket Pro 2 and recently bought an AMG Commander, covered in this thread:

    AMG Lab Shot Timer

I like the AMG Timer quite a bit. Besides the other features, I use the highest sensitivity setting to time my Dry Practice draws at home. I’m not aware of any other Timer that can do that.

After running a PACT III for a bit and breaking one, I am trying out the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro original. So far, I am enjoying it.
