those are the ones to have! Particularly in a workshop environment.

Anyone own or try the fans powered by 12v/18v/20v batteries? The Dewalt 20v fan is $99 and the Craftsman 20v is $50. Those are the 2 systems I have, leaning towards Dewalt.

Found this M18 setup for $160... and the gateway drug to another battery system...

I have that fan. I've used it so little that I forgot I had it, but yeah, I do. It's nice that you can angle it, and it clicks into detents to hold it in place. My memory is that it was reasonably powerful and reasonably long-lasting on a 4.0Ah battery (I've had it a long time), but that it was waaaaay overpriced when you stop and think that a 110V box fan from Walmart was like $20 a couple yrs ago when I bought one.

If, like me, you are uncool enough to be using Ryobi, Direct Tools has the Ryobi fans (blems) for $20 right now.

    RYOBI fan

Figured it'd be good to keep a tent more comfy.

I have the Dewalt and like it. The speed dial adjusts smoothly to any speed, which I prefer compared to the High/Med/Low setup on most other brands. $83.99 right now on eBay from CPO. Sometimes you can find it a few bucks cheaper or with a battery thrown in but that's not a bad deal.

Most of my recent purchases have been Milwaukee and I looked into the M18 fan a while back when I saw a really good deal on it. I'd lean toward something else for your first M18 tool though...the CFM rating is much lower than the Dewalt (or Craftsman) and it requires an adapter to run off AC (the adapter is included, but that makes it less flexible than the others that can run off any extension cord). If you do go that direction, that combo is $30 cheaper from the same seller if you go through eBay.

I've got the Dewalt version. It works well. I use it for my dog when he is in his crate in the back of the truck (SnugTop Shell). I already had some Dewalt tools so it made sense to stay with Dewalt.

Good info guys. I suppose its a lot of money for a portable fan so I might as well stick with a battery setup I own. I guess the $50 Craftsmen would do the trick but that CPO Ebay store having the Dewalt for $84 is reasonable.

Dang, that website has a lot of stuff cheap, like a Ryobi 195 piece Drill/Driving Set for $19.99. A buddy has Ryobi for chainsaws/drills etc and he is happy. I would be good with their gear.

I’m buried deep in the M18 system and I’m waiting for them to update that fan before I buy. It’s a pretty dated design compared to the competitors, as others have pointed out.

I have this light which I love. You can power it by just plugging an extension cord into the side, and if they add that to the fan (as others have pointed out, right now it involves and adapter) I’ll be a buyer of the fan.
