A thread about Bronco's and Jeeps has turned into a Toyota love fest.
They do have some pedigree but I think just about all new vehicles are parts sourced from other countries now.
New Ranger gets an engine built in Mexico. Some new Tacomas are assembled in Mexico. My Chev was built in Pontiac MI. I wish it were built in Japan like my 78 Hilux pickup was.

Doesn't that tell you which of them is better?
If we take 100 SUV owners, 25 of them own Toyotas, 25 own GMs, 25 own Fords, and 25 own Jeeps - how much should the Toyota owners charge for ferrying the remaining SUV owners around to pick their vehicles up from being repaired?
Seriously, last time I saw a 4x4 Tahoe with over 200k miles it was ragged to shit. Meanwhile, my mother is driving around in a 12-year old FJ Cruiser with 180k miles on it that runs and drives excellently for its age. And it has not been treated kindly, just maintained. I know for a fact that thing has been beaten on driving some rocky 4-LO trails that most Jeep owners would be scared to drive. Because I drove the thing on them. Right now, it's going to need a timing chain and it may need a rear pinion bearing. But otherwise it's in good shape overall.
I'll likely "inherit" it shortly, because it's about time for mom to move over to a smaller vehicle. And we'll move her to either a Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4, or Mazda CX5 - because the quality remains superior for the Japanese marques. It is unfortunate, but I won't even bother going to look at any of the Fords, Chevys, or Jeeps in that size range. Why waste the time when you know you'll get an inferior product? One with mediocre build quality, almost certainly assembled in Mexico. Sure it may come out cheaper with incentives, but you'll take a hit on resale value and you'll spend all that money back on maintenance in the long term.
I am disgusted to have to say it, since I literally own Ford stock, but why bother?
I mean...
I kinda want this Howa - https://www.legacysports.com/catalog...chassis-rifle/
And I definitely want this Miroku - http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...odel-1895.html
And this one too - http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...-takedown.html
And maybe this one - http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...i-express.html
So, yea...I'm good with that.
With apologies to our friends in Plano, should they feel any are warranted...
Howa, the Land Cruiser of bolt actions*.
*Except for that bolt stop screw issue.

I had an original back in the 60's, heavy as hell and 30-40 Krag (30 Army) no bueno. I understand it was also built in 30-06 and a few other cartridges.
Nice to look at tho.
